Glenbrook will build 618 flats across five buildings
Developer Glenbrook has achieved planning consent for a £140m, 618-flat built-to-rent scheme in Leeds.
The properties will be built across five buildings on the 5.1-acre site in Kirkstall Road on the bank of the River Aire.
Daniel Roberts, senior development manager at Glenbrook, said: “We identified this prominent former brownfield site as having huge potential and achieving planning will enable us to deliver a highly sustainable scheme which will act as a catalyst for the wider regeneration of Kirkstall Road.”
Much of the site will be public open space and include a riverside park as well as pedestrian and cycling routes.
Manchester-based Glenbrook hopes to start on the scheme, designed by architects Carey Jones Chapman Tolcher, later this year.
The project team is made up of consultants Avison Young (planning), Curtins and GIA as well as surveyors Abacus Cost Management and engineering consultants Crookes Walker Consulting.
