Landlord takes delivery of 614-apartment development months ahead of schedule
The largest build-to-rent scheme outside London has been completed and handed over to the scheme’s landlord, three months ahead of schedule.
The 614-apartment Leach Rhodes Walker-designed scheme at Clippers Quay in Salfords Quay in Greater Manchester cost developer Amstone Ventures £100m to build across five blocks.
It has been handed over to Newcastle-based Grainger, one of the UK’s largest residential landlords. Grainger currently rents out more than 8,200 homes and said it has a pipeline of more than 5,200 new rental homes, following an investment of £1.9bn.
As well as flats for rental, the development includes a cinema, a private dining room, a residents’ lounge and co-working space.
The four-acre site was bought by Amstone in 2014, with planning given the following year.
Sir Robert McAlpine began work on the site in 2016.
