Scheme part of wider development to build more than 100 homes
Countryside has signed a deal to build a new secondary school in west London as part of a deal to build more than 100 homes in Ealing.
Designed by Pollard Thomas Edwards Architects, the scheme will feature 116 homes as well as a 1,200-place secondary school called Ark Soane Academy. Countryside was chosen for the job by the Department for Education. The school is due to open by September next year.
The school will occupy the first three floors of the building with the homes spread out across the six to 12-storey stepped building above.
Most of the homes will be built for a joint venture between build-to-rent developer Sigma Capital and investor EQT Exeter, with 21 of the homes being affordable and managed by Network Homes.
Main contractor Jerram Falkus Construction began enabling works on the deal earlier this year.
An energy centre installed with a ground source heat pump will also be built as part of the scheme.
