Countryside will work in partnership with Homes England to deliver the Warwickshire scheme
Countryside has purchased land for the development of 259 homes and obtained planning permission for the first phase of the project. In total, the scheme will deliver around 1,000 homes at Windmill View in Upper Lighthorne, near Leamington Spa.
West Midlands-based social housing provider Citizen will own and manage 130 affordable homes being built in the first phase of the project, following a forward-sale agreement.
The remaining 129 homes will be sold on the open market under Countryside’s Linden Homes brand.

The scheme will see over £2m in investment into local infrastructure, including healthcare facilities, education and roads.
A second phase of construction will deliver an additional 280 homes, while work on the first phase is scheduled to commence later this year.
In September this year, the Vistry Group-owned subsidiary was selected by Milton Keynes Council to deliver 930 homes in Newport Pagnell. They also signed a pre-construction service agreement with Network Homes to deliver 575 homes in Southall, Ealing.
Ragu Sittambalam, senior planning and enabling manager at Homes England, said: “This is an important milestone for Countryside’s Windmill View development and is the next step towards the creation of 259 new homes, many of which will be affordable, in an area of unaffordability.”
