Rupert Home is the new managing director of Cala Homes’ South Home Counties business
Cala Homes’ South Home Counties business has appointed former Countryside director Rupert Home as its new managing director.
The firm has also announced the promotion of Liz Stone from sales manager in its Thames region, a post she held for more than four years, to sales and marketing director for South Home Counties.
Home, who has 12 years experience in the industry and was formerly a land and planning director at Countryside for the southern region, will oversee delivery of strategic growth objectives as well as work on strengthening Cala’s presence in Kent.
Cala, which has been wholly-owned by Legal & General Capital since 2018, has growth plans to expand across East Hampshire, Surrey, Sussex, Kent, and the South London boroughs.
The housebuilder, which tripled revenues after a pandemic dip, said Home, who was also previously land and development director at Dandara South East, had “extensive land and planning expertise”.
The new MD said: “It’s an exciting time to be joining Cala. The South Home Counties business is in a strong position, having contracted on more than 950 homes so far this year.
“Our focus moving forward is to build upon Cala’s success in East Hampshire, Surrey, and West Sussex, where the team has delivered 2,400 homes since 2014, creating well-designed and thriving new communities.”
Cala has recently acquired a new Tonbridge site with the potential for 125 homes and aims to deliver 600 homes per year by 2026, through its Cala Homes and Legal & General Homes brands.
The company said Stone had built a “strong appreciation for the quality of Cala’s design and construction” in her previous role in the Thames region.
Home said of Stone: “With her market expertise, a strong understanding of our customer profile, and of our two brands - Cala Homes and Legal & General Homes - Liz will play a key role in helping to shape the strategy for the region’s delivery of much needed new housing.”
