Housing association giant signs up offsite construction specialist Mid Group
The UK’s largest housing association Clarion has signed up offsite construction specialist Mid Group to build 152 units of affordable housing on the banks of the River Avon in Bristol.
The £50m scheme, which gained planning permission last year, is made up of four blocks of up to 15 storeys, and will produce 112 flats for shared ownership and a further 40 for affordable rent.
With contracts exchanged with Mid Group, Clarion said it expected to be on site on Bath Road within the next couple of months, in advance of completion in 2022. It will be Clarion’s first city centre scheme in Bristol.
Bristol city council’s housing cabinet member Paul Smith said the council was “very supportive” of Clarion’s plans.
