Scheme for 99 homes in Cheshire is first joint venture
Clarion has formed a joint venture with Lovell to build homes in the North-west.
The housing association’s development subsidiary, Latimer, has concluded a strategic partnership with the housing contractor to deliver and market new properties. The first product of the venture will be a 99-home scheme in the village of Weston, in Cheshire, which will include 30 affordable homes.
The partnership will also provide a park and £200,000 in planning contributions to go alongside the scheme.
Richard Cook, group director of development for Clarion Housing Group, said: “We are delighted to be entering into a long-term partnership with a well-respected developer that shares Latimer’s passion for placemaking and delivering quality, well-designed homes for our residents.”
Clarion has announced that it has raised £350m in the bond market, at the lowest-ever interest rate for a housing association, to fund its housing management and development programmes.
It built 691 homes in the first half of the 2019/20 financial year, according to results posted last month, a record for the business.
