125,000-home association sells stock to 13,000-home Grand Union Housing Group 

Clarion has completed its second sale of stock to another housing association in the space of a few weeks.

The 125,000-home provider has sold 140 homes to Milton Keynes-based Grand Union Housing Group. It follows the sale of 747 homes to Portsmouth City Council earlier this month.

Clarion last year said it has been undertaking a stock rationalisation plan as it seeks to divest itself of “properties that we are not able to manage in the most efficient and effective manner” It sold 1,162 units in 2022/23.

Rob Lane, chief property officer at Clarion, said: “Following a formal consultation, we’re really pleased to have been able to provide Grand Union the opportunity to build on their long-standing relationship with these customers.”

Grand Union had previously been managing the 140 homes on behalf of Clarion.

Phil Hardy, executive director of operations, at Grand Union Housing Group, said: “We’re delighted to be taking ownership of these north and west Northamptonshire homes as this is our heartland, and they sit alongside many that we already own.”
