Higgins appointed to build out 74-home regeneration project in Forest Gate
Clarion has awarded a £20m contract to build an apartment scheme in Newham London to affordable housing contractor Higgins.
Higgins said it had begun the construction of 74 homes for the housing association in two towers of five and seven storeys in Woodgrange Road, Forest Gate, east London.
The lower levels of the building, designed by consultant Calford Seaden, are to be clad in brick to fit in with the surrounding conservation area, while the upper floors will be clad in pre-patinated copper.
Steve Leakey, managing director of Higgins Partnerships said the firm was “committed to providing training and employment opportunities for the local community” and will be creating seven apprenticeships along with community investment.
