Membership body appoints 12 to new board to advise on EDI strategy
The Chartered Institute of Housing has appointed 12 trustees to its new equality, diversity and inclusion (EDI) board.
The professional membership body has today announced the names of those who will sit on the board, which will provide EDI advice on strategic issues to the governing board and executive leaders of the CIH.
The board will also set the strategic direction for the institute’s annual EDI action plan and inform the delivery of EDI content within CIH’s events.
The board includes Gordon Perry, former chief executive of Accent Group and experienced EDI manager and consultant Rohini Sharma Joshi (full list below).
Ria Bailes, managing director of Bailes Partners Consulting, sits on both the main CIH governing board and the new EDI board.
She said: “Our trustees bring a wide variety of expertise and a shared commitment to upholding and promoting equality, diversity and inclusion across every aspect of work in the housing sector and our support to and engagement with tenants and communities. Together we can build an inclusive industry that reflects the needs of all those who contribute to and benefit from the work that we do.”
The EDI board plans to hold its first meeting in January.
