Housing association says its largest scheme to date shoyuld be completed by next summer
Essex housing association CHP has kicked off its largest land-led scheme to date, delivering 74 affordable homes on a derelict brownfield site in Braintree.
Homes on the East Street scheme – a mixture of one, two and three-bedroom flats and houses – are expected to be completed by the summer of next year.
There will be 44 affordable rent homes and 30 for shared ownership.
CHP, which manages more than 10,000 homes across Essex, received nearly £2m from Homes England to fund the development, which including the land purchase is expected to cost £13.5m to complete.
The housing association said it was working with contractor Rose Builders, based in Manningtree, Essex, and east London-based consultant architect Ingelton Wood on the scheme.
Carl Hockey, CHP’s growth and partnerships director, said the development was part of the group’s commitment to deliver 365 new homes a year.
