Nearly a third of development near Godalming will be affordable
Cala Homes has begun work on 262 homes on a development in Surrey that will feature a range of detached, semi-detached and custom-build properties.
The housebuilder said 30% of the homes at Ockford Park, near Godalming, will be affordable, split between shared ownership and rental tenures.
The scheme will also deliver a community building and new public open space.
Cala will pay £5m towards local infrastructure and other public services as part of its section 106 contributions.
Waverley borough council and Surrey county council will between them receive nearly £2m in a new homes’ bonus. The grant is paid by central government to spend on services such as rubbish collections and providing local amenities.
Last month Cala started enabling works on the first phase of a development of 400 homes at Long Marston airfield near Stratford-upon-Avon having completed the purchase of the site.
