Modular house builder claims customers can move into their bespoke homes within 10 weeks of agreeing design
Harrogate-based modular house builder Built & Spaces has launched an app which it claims can help customers design their own home from scratch and see it completed within 10 weeks.
B&S said it believed its Build My Home software – which lets customers design their house room by room, adding different modules for areas such as kitchen, bathrooms and bedrooms – was an industry first.
The app also offers an accurate quote for every part used in the construction process, the group said.
B&S director Steve Wilkie said the design process takes a week using the software, followed up by manufacturing (eight weeks) and construction onsite, which takes a further week, including two days to lay foundations.
The firm, which was founded in February of this year and is working on homes in Harrogate, Milton Keynes and Plymouth, manufactures varying sizes of workplaces as well as homes ranging from one to eight bedrooms, with house prices ranging from £68,000 to £472,000.
Wilkie said: “Customers can be standing inside their constructed house just 10 weeks later thanks to our unique component-led system that lets our staff assemble the home by hand on site.
“Nobody else is pricing houses this way. We are literally counting the nuts and bolts needed for the project, and removing the guesswork to provide an accurate quote,” he added.
B&S’ website says customers are responsible for gaining planning permission for any devleopment they undertake.
