Pair hope to being work on brownfield job in 2026
The West London Partnership has revealed plans for a new 300-home scheme at High Barnet Station
Barratt London and Places for London aim to begin the scheme, which will target 40% affordable housing, by 2026 and complete it by 2029.
Consultations are ongoing on the plans, which include new pedestrian routes through the site, upgrades to open space, as well as new commercial units.
Places for London, the property arm of Transport for London, appointed the housebuilder as its official delivery partner in west London in 2022 and in June 2024 the pair set up West London Partnership to deliver more than 4,000 homes over the next decade.
The partnership will operate in west London, including the boroughs of Barnet and Ealing, and half of homes delivered will be affordable.
The two have previously partnered on the Blackhorse Road development in Waltham Forest, are currently working together to deliver 450 homes at Wembley Park Gardens in Brent, and last year received planning permission for 900 homes on Bollo Road, near Acton Town Tube station.
The latter will be the first development formally delivered through the West London Partnership, with work set to commence in early 2025.
Craig Carson, managing director at Barratt West London, said: “Each site within the partnership has been specially selected to bring forward underused land with excellent transport links and put it back into use for the public benefit, including delivering public realm.
“London is in urgent need of more homes, and by taking a collaborative approach with Places for London, we can accelerate the delivery of these high quality sustainable new homes as well as investing in local communities.”
