Irish developer to build nearly 900 homes
Ballymore has got work underway on a 12-acre scheme in west London which will eventually deliver nearly 900 homes.
The privately-owned Irish developer is building the Brentford Project, a mixed-use regeneration scheme located at the point where the River Brent flows into the Thames.
Of the 876 homes 80 will be affordable, comprising of social rent, affordable rent and shared ownership, overseen by Hounslow council.
The project has been designed by architects Allford Hall Monaghan Morris, Glenn Howells Architects and Maccreanor Lavington.
The first homes are due to be completed in spring 2022, with the overall scheme – a mix of studio, one, two and three-bedroom properties – to be completed by 2027.
The development will feature yards and lanes connecting Brentford high street with the waterfront, which will host restaurants, cafes and pubs.
John Mulryan, Ballymore’s group managing director, said the scheme would restore lost connections in the area.
“The Brentford Project will revive this well-connected pocket of London to create a place not just for people to live but also to experience and enjoy,” he added.
Ballymore has recently topped out the 766-home Wardian residential scheme in Docklands, also designed by Glenn Howell Architects, whose two towers rise to 50 and 55 storeys.
