Scheme in Elland worth £70m
Avant has submitted plans for a 314-home scheme in West Yorkshire worth £70m.
The proposed 27-acre development, which is called Coppice Quarter, will be located off Exley Lane in the town of Elland.
It will be comprised of a mix of two-, three-, four- and five-bedroom homes and will include 14 of the housebuilder’s multi-tenure energy efficient house types.
The Chesterfield-based firm, which delivered 1,766 completions for the year ended 30 June 2023, said one in five homes in the new scheme have been designated for affordable housing.
If given the green light by Calderdale Council, work will start in December, with the first residents expected to move in next July.
The housebuilder, which has plans to triple in size to build a business selling 6,000 homes per year, recently submitted plans for 230-home scheme in Scotland.
The business has been run by controversial former Persimmon boss Jeff Fairburn following a reverse takeover by Yorkshire builder Berkeley de Vere in 2021, backed by investment firm Elliott Advisers.
Avant Homes North Yorkshire managing director, Matt Oldfield, said: “We are very pleased to have submitted our plans to deliver a multi-tenure residential development for Elland.
“Our objective as a housebuilder is to provide quality new homes for everyone in places where people want to live that will create long-lasting sustainable communities.
“Coppice Quarter has been designed according to those criteria and will provide people with practically designed, energy efficient homes at a range of price points in order to make them more accessible. We now look forward to Calderdale Council considering our plans for the development.”
The Avant Homes Group currently operates across the north of England, the Midlands and Scotland from nine regional operating businesses, with more than 600 employees. In February it opened a new region in the North west.
