Iain Allison joins housebuilder as land and special projects director

Avant Homes Scotland has appointed a former senior executive at Bellway and Taylor Wimpey as its new land and special projects director.

The housebuilder hopes Iain Allison’s 35 years of experience in the sector will help it as it prepares for expansion in the country.

Allison was previously Bellway’s managing director for the Scotland East division.

The firm’s land acquisition programme this year included the purchase of a 170-home development in Rosyth worth £44m, a 92-home development in Tranent worth £31m and a site in Glenboig, which will deliver 31 homes with a gross development value of £9m.

Allison said: “We are very active in the residential development land market across Scotland and, although we have strong pipeline of sites, we are keen to secure more.

“Scotland is a strategically important market for Avant Homes with a huge amount of opportunity, and we believe we have the ideal range of practically designed, energy efficient homes for buyers here.

“I’m leading an ambitious land team eager to find more development sites so we can continue deliver upon our vision of providing quality homes, for everyone.”

The Scottish firm, which is one of eight regional businesses operating under the auspices of the Avant Homes Group, currently has nine live developments.

The group is headquartered near Chesterfield and delivered more than 1,700 homes i the year to 30 June 2024.
