The regional operating company has hired a new technical director and head of land
Avant Homes West Yorkshire has appointed Gareth Uttley as a technical director and Mark Beevers as head of land.
The housebuilder has said that these two senior appointments aim to bolster its leadership team to drive forward its multi-tenure strategy.
Uttley has 16 years of experience in housebuilding, having worked as a senior architectural technician earlier on in his career and progressed to technical manager and head of technical roles at Persimmon Homes and Keepmoat Homes.
As technical director, he will lead Avant Homes West Yorkshire’s technical team on the region’s multi-tenure development opportunities.
This will include working closely with colleagues in land, commercial, construction and site management to enable effective development delivery.

Beevers has joined Avant Homes from Persimmon Homes where he was head of land and planning.
He has 10 years of experience in the industry and is responsible for securing new multi-tenure development opportunities for Avant Homes across West Yorkshire and beyond.
Commenting on the appointments, Avant Homes West Yorkshire managing director, Richard Hosie, said: “Gareth and Mark are both highly respected operators who possess the ambition, skill and understanding to further propel our business forward in the delivery of our multi-tenure strategy.
“They have joined a committed and highly capable regional team and have already made a big positive impact. We look forward to seeing them play a significant role in the ongoing evolution of Avant Homes West Yorkshire.”
Avant Homes currently has nine developments underway in West Yorkshire, ranging from Odette’s Point in Keighley to Sorby Park in Waverley.
Avant Homes West Yorkshire is part of the Avant Homes Group, which operates across the north of England, Midlands and Scotland through nine regional operating businesses.
The firm is run by former Persimmon boss Jeff Fairburn, who spearheaded the takeover of Avant by Yorkshire housebuilder Berkeley DeVeer, with the financial backing of investment firm Elliott Advisors back in 2021.
Avant has said it plans to triple in size to build a business selling 6,000 homes per year, and in February opened a new region in the North-west. It delivered 1,766 completions for the year ending 30 June 2023.
