Chesterfield-based housebuilder expects to complete development by the end of 2022
Avant Homes has kickstarted work on a 224-home scheme in Wakefield after getting the go-ahead from the local council.
The Chesterfield-based housebuilder has started on its £61m City Fields development and expects to complete the mix of two, three- and four-bedroom homes by the end of 2022.
The first homes will be ready for occupants in April next year.
The group, which wants to double output to 4,000 homes a year and become a £1bn turnover business by 2023, said it would also be spending £280,000 on providing local transport and on public art for the area.
Avant Homes is currently working on 13 schemes across Yorkshire and said City Fields was its largest to date in Wakefield.
Last month the firm promoted group developments director Chris Coley to be its Yorkshire division’s managing director.
Coley joined Avant 14 years ago as a graduate surveyor.
