Newcastle City Council expects a low ‘C3’ consumer grade after finding 16 regulatory failings

Local authority puts improvement plan in place after closing ALMO

Newcastle City Council has said it is likely to become the latest local authority to receive a low ‘C3’ grading against new consumer standards after finding 16 regulatory failings in its services.

The local authority, which closed its arm’s length management organisation (ALMO) in July, said: “We have identified 16 material gaps against the standards, many in areas that the Regulator of Social Housing (RSH) would consider critical to achieving a compliant grade.”
