Midland Heart sets out £300m plan to improve 6,000 ‘most challenging’ homes

35,000-home landlord’s corporate plan also pledges 2,250 new homes over the next five years

Midland Heart’s £300m housing stock investment plan will see 6,000 of its ‘most challenging’ homes upgraded.

The 35,000-home landlord today published its 2025-30 corporate plan, which it has titled ‘Tenants at Heart’.

The provider’s plan focuses on tackling 6,000 properties, of which around 4,500 are pre-war homes that it said are currently not very energy efficient.

The provider said: “We will make these homes more affordable for tenants to maintain, improve the thermal comfort and help alleviate some of the challenges with fuel poverty.
