The government agency has brought the largest land parcel at Forth Yards in Newcastle into public sector ownership after Quayside West Limited went into administration last year
Homes England has announced its purchase of Quayside West, the largest land parcel in Forth Yards, referring to it as “one of the most significant brownfield regeneration sites in Newcastle”.
Forth Yards, situated next to Newcastle Central Station and the river Tyne, is a 21-hectare site which has the potential to deliver 2,500 new homes and deliver regeneration to this part of the city centre.
Quayside West is home to the Utilita Arena, Newcastle heliport and a derelict leadworks and has the capacity to deliver approximately 1,100 new homes.
