Housing Today lists the councils to have deferred local plans in the wake of the government’s proposed changes to planning
On December 6 levelling up secretary Michael Gove announced proposals to water down planning rules to make it easier for councils to avoid meeting local targets for housing in their area.
The move, made following severe pressure from Conservative backbenchers concerned about centrally-mandated housing numbers set by the so-called “standard method”, was followed just 16 days later by the publication of a consultation on new national policy containing the policy changes themselves.
