In our latest Q&A, Russ Edwards talks about his excitement at starting work for Clarion on a new garden community project and his belief in the potential for digital tools to increase construction output
Why did you choose housing as a career?
I originally studied and then practiced architecture, eventually leading on a number of residential projects - which provided direct exposure to how chronic the UK’s housing crisis is, so crossing over to residential development was a natural move for me to be able to contribute to improving things.
What are you most proud of in your career to date?
Project wise, I would say Trafalgar Place which sits alongside the Elephant Park regeneration project in South London. I’m also very proud of the Pocket Living portfolio I had oversight of 2013-2017, which included their first volumetric construction project.
