Why did you choose housing as a career?

I wanted to be a barrister at first. But I got a job at a property company and became a chartered surveyor.

I found a lot of synergy between property and the things that originally attracted me to law – from the nitty gritty of legal structures to site assembly. In some ways each development can feel like working on a case and what I really love about property is that sense of puzzle solving – how do I make this place work? What challenges are we trying to address with a development?

What are you most proud of in your career to date?

Definitely co-founding Navana Property Group and our sister business VervLife which focuses on build to rent (BTR).
