Ministers want to reduce the seven-year average to produce and adopt local plans

The government has announced it will expect local authorities to take no more than 30 months to prepare and adopt their local plan.

The Ministry for Communities and Local Government (MHCLG) has confirmed the target in its response to the previous government’s consultation on plan-making reform.
