There is just under a week to go before the inaugural World Architecture 100 Live takes place.

An extension of the WA100, which was published last month, the new virtual event, which will take place on 22 February, looks to provide architects and design teams wanting to work in the international arena with a range of panel discussions, interviews and exclusive data.

The free-to-attend event will take place on 22 February

In our first panel discussion, Navigating the global stage, Eddie Miles, chief executive of Hyphen, a newcomer to the WA100 Big List, will lay out the firm’s recent experience launching into new markets.

With the firm having expanded into a new market just last year – having opened its first office in Ireland – Miles is ideally positioned to speak about what it takes to operate in a new region.

He will be joined by Chand Chudasama, partner at Price Bailey, who will also add his expertise to the discussion - which will kick off at 11am.

The second session of the day, Global trends and prospects for 2022 and beyond, will feature Andrew Whalley, chairman at Grimshaw, Ian Apsley, managing director at Broadway Malyan, Jeremy Farrington, principal at BDP, and Sophie Crocker, architect and health researcher at HKS.

They will discuss emerging markets and key global design trends, the issues affecting the way in which buildings are designed around the world and the key sectors to watch moving forward.

And to cap things off we Keynote interview with the V&A’s Philippa Simpson to discuss what clients are looking for from their design teams.

Taking place at 9.30am, the interview will explore key factors in the procurement process, key considerations from a design perspective, social aspects influencing choice of practice and plenty more.

All the sessions are free to attend and will be available on demand after they have concluded.
