Court orders building owner to pay £60,000 for cladding removal delays

Chaplair Limited fined £30,000 and ordered to pay £30,000 in costs for missing deadline to remove cladding

The owner of Lumiere Building in Manor Park, East London has been ordered to pay a total of £60,000 in fines after it was found guilty of failing to remove flammable cladding by the deadline imposed by Newham Council. 

On Wednesday 18 October, Newham Council successfully prosecuted Chaplair Limited for failing to remove flammable cladding by the deadline imposed, of 31 March 2021.
