Decarbonisation has many challenges, but helping residents understand new heating systems is crucial and often overlooked, writes Matthew Scott
When we think about the biggest challenges for decarbonising social housing, resident liaison officers are normally far from the top of the list.
Funding gaps, the lack of low-carbon heat installers, or the limited capacity of the electricity network are probably where your mind goes.
But we would do well to notice the findings of two evaluations: one of the Social Housing Decarbonisation Fund (SHDF), and one of the Warm Homes Fund (WHF), and what they had to say about heat pump installations in social housing.
