Timber is crucial in the journey towards net zero and the governmen’s timber in construction roadmap should just be the start, writes Simon Vernon-Harcourt.
As a housebuilder, we are constantly looking and exploring new modern ways to improve sustainability and minimise carbon emissions during construction. More and more, we are starting to see a demand shift in timber construction and design across new builds.
With as little as 9% of the UK’s timber buildings located in England, the UK Government recent timber in construction roadmap to support decarbonising our housing stock and increase the use of timber in construction was very much welcomed.
