With the focus on how 1.5 million new homes can be delivered within this government term, I think it is increasingly becoming clear that a structural change to the housing sector will be required if we are to get anywhere near delivering this. 

Understanding the basic characteristics of the housing market will become essential to ensure that any housing or wider economic initiative has the desired effect on housing delivery without having any unintended consequences
