Forthcoming legislation to further shake up the planning system is exactly what the housing sector needs, but there is a long way to go yet, writes Craig Pettit

The Planning and Infrastructure Bill has offered hope in providing the large-scale reform that the country’s planning system desperately needed.

A severe housing deficit means that building at pace must be a priority, and the bill is certainly taking steps in the right direction. Paving the way for a future streamlined system is positive but there are arguably a few changes that will make an impact immediately.
