As both main parties announce policies, Ben Derbyshire describes his remedy for tackling the housing crisis
Both main parties are vying for public attention with housing policies to engage public disquiet over the spiralling affordability and housing supply crises.
Here’s my take on the issues to be addressed.
1. Recognise the role of housing in responding to the crises of climate and biodiversity
We cannot afford to wait if we are to have any chance of averting disaster for our climate and biodiversity.
Government must accelerate, the long-awaited Future Homes Standard, supporting and endorsing our institutions who are collaborating to find a consistent approach to the Net Zero Building Standard.
