Starmer’s government must not forget about shared ownership

Bjorn Howard makes the case for ensuring shared ownership homes are included in the government’s renewed housing delivery targets

On Monday 8 July, the new chancellor, Rachel Reeves, in her first speech to the Treasury promised to “get Britain building again.”

She pledged to bring back compulsory local housebuilding targets and support local authorities with housing delivery by appointing 300 additional planning officers across the country
