Labour’s new towns are an opportunity to turbocharge community development

Following the government’s announcement that it has received 100 proposals for new towns, Amanda Williams calls on ministers to include community-led development quotas in their plans.

Delivering the 1.5 million new homes in the government’s manifesto is no mean feat and will require innovation, forward-thinking and bold ideas.

The government showed us that it was moving in that direction with its new towns announcement in February, in which it revealed it had 100 proposals.
