Keir Starmer’s government is targeting 1.5m new homes, but we need intervention to help ensure the HA sector can be a powerful contributor to delivery, argues Richard Jones
There is a lot of advice being offered to the new government on how it can stimulate the housing market. I think most commentators agree that if we are to get anywhere near the 1.5m homes that Labour has pledged within the first term of their government (five years) then significant intervention from the public sector will be required.
