All the signs are that a deal between the government and the housebuilding industry over the cladding crisis is due to be reached in the next few days. Sources on both sides of the negotiations – which centre on how to fund repairs to mid- and high-rise blocks now deemed to pose fire risks – say talks are entering the final stages.
