The industry needs support and a roadmap in order to deliver more energy efficient homes, writes David Thomas
As Autumn officially arrives with the end of August, it’s not unreasonable for everyone in the housing industry to be wondering what’s happening with the Future Homes Standard that’s been promised by the government. But I’ll come back to that at the end.
For now, it’s worth re-emphasising that even in a declining housing market the road to net zero isn’t optional. It is something the housebuilding industry simply has to deliver, building a sustainable future for new generations. Housebuilding will hopefully be one of the first sectors of the economy to make this transition to net zero, delivering carbon ready, nature positive homes and places.
