With a clear focus in the levelling up and regeneration bill, design codes are set to be put in place across the country, with every area required to have one to improve the quality of new development.
As well as being a task for local authorities at an area-wide level, this is an opportunity for developers, landowners and neighbourhoods to positively shape their areas and help define the form of future development
