The fragmented nature of the social housing sector can see multiple landlords competing for the same suppliers. Matt Forrest explains how North east social housing providers are coming together to find a better way.

I’m sure most of us have come across streets where you have one side owned by one social housing provider and the other side owned by another.

 Zoom out a little and the picture can be even more complicated, with six or seven providers having stock in an area as small as one square kilometre.

It’s one of those inevitable consequences of the UK social housing sector being so fragmented and complex.
