The government has extended the Home Building Fund for SMEs that was due to close this month, but restrictive rules still block smaller housebuilders from gaining access to the loans they need to develop difficult sites, writes Wayne Douglas
It’s good to see that the needs of small and medium-sized housebuilders are finally on the government’s radar and that the Home Building Fund for SMEs has been extended beyond the end of this month, with a further £700 million of loans available to help build an estimated 12,000 new homes.
