Sector reacts to Keir Starmer’s 400-plus seat victory
Housing bosses have this morning been speaking of their hope for future stability and a “reset” of the market after Labour’s historic general election victory.
Keir Starmer’s party has so far won 410 seats with counting ongoing, giving the party a landslide as it returns to power for the first time in 14 years.
Labour has put housebuilding at the centre of its manifesto, pledging planning reforms, new towns, 1.5 million new homes and changes to boost affordable housing (see box below).
