We would like Government policy to recognise the huge demand for affordable good quality housing for older people and review the planning process to help support local authorities achieve this.
We would like them to use planning policies and grant decisions to increase outputs which would benefit the ageing population, reduce the need for more expensive institutional care settings and release much needed family housing.
The landscape is very competitive right now. We are not intentionally slowing down our rate of development but we are finding that the market is presenting barriers that are, by default, causing delays.
This includes issues such as supply chain disruption, cost inflation leading to renegotiation of prices and planning issues.
